Carmel High School Student Finalist in National Competition

Meet the local Indianapolis finalist of the 2015 Siemens Competition In Math, Science and Technology. Vikas Maturi, a senior from Carmel Senior High School, won the individual category and a $3,000 scholarship for his project entitled, “Engineered Intraocular Injection Guide (IIG): Pain Reduction in Ophthalmic Disease Treatment.” Live From the Awards Ceremony at The George Washington University in D.C.

This year, once again, the Siemens Competition in Math, Science and Technology generated unprecedented participation, as the interest in STEM subjects continues to grow.  A total of $500,000 in scholarships will be awarded to the students who have reached the final round with the individual and team winner each receiving $100,000.
