IMPD: Man leads police on chase, crashes into fence

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) -Indianapolis police say they took one person into custody early Wednesday morning after a chase north of downtown.

It ended around 3 a.m. when police say the driver crashed his car into a fence. It happened near West 20th Street and Holmes Avenue, just west of the White River.

Officers on scene said the chase started near West Washington Street and Rockville Road. That’s where they tried to pull the man over, but they say he took off.

According to police, at one point speeds were near 65-70 miles per hour on city streets.

No one was injured. Crews have since towed the car from the scene.
