SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – A former town marshal is terminated from his position at the Sullivan County Jail.

News 10 spoke with Sullivan County Sheriff Clark Cottom. Cottom confirms that Darrick Cullison had worked as a civilian, non-sworn, employee of the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office since last March. Cottom says Cullison was not given a badge, gun or any authority in his position.

According to 24-Hour News 8 sister station, WTHI, Cottom says he received a 911 call Tuesday night regarding the fight at the Hymera Town Hall involving the former and current town marshal. Following the incident and initial findings, Cottom says he suspended Cullison with pay pending further investigation.

On Wednesday, following further investigation, Cottom says he chose to terminate Cullison from his position as a jailer at the county jail.
