Dalton Row faces a preliminary charge of arson in a Thanksgiving Day fire.

GREENFIELD,Ind. (WISH) –  According to the Greenfield Police Department and Greenfield Fire Department, one person has been taken into custody in connection to a Thanksgiving Day fire.

Dalton Rowe was arrested and faces a preliminary charge of arson.

The fire started around noon on Thanksgiving Day.

Crews were able to get the fire under control shortly after arriving on the scene. Investigators said no one was home at the time and no injuries were reported due to the fire.

After the house fire was put out, fire officials ruled out any accidental cause. Authorities then began talking to witnesses, canvassing the neighborhood and examining security video.

Rowe and his girlfriend were both tenants in the house at the time.

Fire officials believe Rowe set the fire due to an impending break-up. Investigators said the couple did not have renters insurance.
