Members of Indianapolis Fire Department help those in need

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Christmastime is a wonderful time, but for some it can also be a difficult period of the year.

That’s why members of the Indianapolis Fire Department took part in the IFD Clothe-A-Child Program.

Firefighters spent Saturday morning giving back to those in need by giving more than 40 area children an early Christmas.

The children were treated to breakfast at the Indianapolis Firefighters Local 416 Union Hall.  When breakfast was over, the kids and the firefighters headed to Castleton Square Mall to do some shopping.

In all, nearly $10,000 was spent outfitting the children at Sears.  But the day wasn’t over yet.

Santa also visited the Union Hall where the children then opened a gift.
