Prayer vigil marks third anniversary of Sandy Hook

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – An interfaith prayer vigil on Saturday served to represent victims of gun violence, including those recently killed during the terrorist attacks in San Bernardino and Paris.

Orange was chosen as the color of the day to symbolize the human life lost to gun violence.

The event was organized by the advocacy group Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America.

“As a mother of two young kids I am tired of sitting around and just listening in the news about whats going on. I want to take action. We live in a world now where my kids also have shooting lock down drills in addition to tornado drills,” said Jessica Bischoff.

The group, founded by an Indiana mother, seeks to put an end to gun violence in the country by continuing the conversation through events that engage the public.
