Immigrant Welcome Center expands in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A resource for immigrants in Indianapolis has expanded.

The Immigrant Welcome Center opened the door to its new facility in “Southeast Community Services” in Fountain Square on Monday.

It relocated from the John H. Boner Community Center to make room for a growing operation and hosted an open house Monday so the public can see what they’re all about.

“The IWC was really established so we can help them find those connections that they need in order to build a life of self-sufficiency and build success here in Indianapolis,” said Terri Morris-Downs, Executive Director at the Immigrant Welcome Center

Morris-Downs says the center projects that the immigrant population will double by 2023 to top 120,000 people.
