ISP: Drunk teen going to Steak ‘n Shake drove 115 mph

MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) – A teenager from Yorktown was arrested over the weekend after police say he was driving 60 miles an hour faster that he should have been.

It happened around 1:40 a.m. Saturday on the west side of Muncie. According to Indiana State Police, 19-year-old Griffin Davis was driving eastbound on State Road 332 near County Road 500 West when his vehicle was clocked at 115 mph in a 55 mph zone.

He was stopped near State Road 332 and Nebo Road. Davis told police he and his three passengers were on their way to a local Steak ‘n Shake.

After investigating, police say Davis was operating his vehicle under the influence of marijuana and alcohol. He was transported to the Delaware County Jail and is facing preliminary charges of operating while intoxicated with a passenger under 18 years of age, operating while intoxicated, endangering and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. He was also issued a speeding ticket.
