Motorcyclist, passenger thrown from vehicle in crash near SR 11

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – Police are investigating the cause of a single motorcycle crash that injured two people on Sunday.

According to the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department, police responded to the 9600 block of South Jonesville Road near Waynesville for a crash with injuries at 8:27 p.m.

At the scene police found a male and female who had been ejected from a motorcycle. The driver, Clarence M. Graham, 59, Columbus, was flown by medical helicopter to IU Health Methodist Hospital and the passenger Teresa Lowry, 57, Columbus, was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital for evaluation. Both Graham and Lowry were awake and talking at the scene.

Initial crash reports showed that the motorcycle was traveling northbound on State Road 11 when it ran off the east side of the road where Graham lost control and crashed.

Police say they found a small bag at the scene near the motorcycle that appeared to have marijuana in it.
