INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Crews are putting the final touches on a new $24 million gym in downtown Indianapolis.

It’s a new YMCA that’s part of the City Way development along South Street, not far from Lucas Oil Stadium.

WISH-TV was lucky enough to get invited inside the new facility, which officially opens to the public Tuesday, Dec. 15. The multi-million dollar facility will have a lot for people to do.

Inside there’s an elevated running track with views of downtown, two indoor swimming pools, three full-sized basketball courts, a green roof and if your soul needs a work out, a chapel too. Families looking to learn about how to prepare healthy meals can do that in a demonstration kitchen.

“Mass Ave’s Hoaglin To Go” Catering will also be in the complex. They’ll have a cafe with light heathy food options. Not to mention there’s a 6-feet-by-28-feet “living wall,” a vertical garden.

You still have time to get a membership without a sign-up fee. It’s projected to be open Monday through Friday from 5 a.m. – 10 p.m., Saturday 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Funding for the YMCA at City Way comes from the YMCA’s “Strengthening the Heart of the City Campaign.” They still need support to finish the project. You can donate here.
