Throwback hip-hop station launches in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Another retro hip-hop station has hit the airwaves in Indianapolis.

BOOM 102.9 FM launched on Monday. N.W.A.’s “Straight Outta Compton” was the first song to play on the station.

BOOM joins 93.9 The Beat in bringing listeners classic hip-hop sounds. The Beat experienced a surge in popularity after changing formats.

The Ed Lover Show will join the lineup on Jan. 11 and air weekdays from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.
