NEW CASTLE, Ind. (WISH) – A woman from Decatur has been arrested for attempting to transfer drugs to an inmate at the New Castle prison in September.
Police say Ann Springer, 21, was arrested on Monday after an ongoing investigation. They say Springer brought a package containing a small amount of marijuana and what was believed to be Suboxone strips on Sept. 6 to the prison.
A GEO prison staff told Indiana State Police detectives that they saw Springer try to pass the package to an inmate she was seeing.
A warrant was issued for Springer’s arrest. She was arrested at her home without incident and booked in the Henry County Jail.
She faces preliminary charges of trafficking with an inmate.
