Employees put inside cooler during armed robbery

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Investigators are looking for an armed man that robbed a Burger King early Wednesday morning. Police responded to a call of a reported armed robbery around 6:45 a.m. at 10201 Illinois Road.

The man got away with an undisclosed about of money, police said. At least three employees were put in the cooler as the suspect went out the back door. No one was hurt.

It is unclear if any customers were inside when the robbery took place.

A K-9 officer tracked behind a hardware store where police think the suspect had a vehicle waiting.

Anyone with information is asked to call Fort Wayne police or Crime Stoppers at (260) 436-STOP.

The incident is under investigation.

Over the weekend, an SUV crashed into the same Burger King location. It’s unclear why the vehicle crashed into the building.
