IMPD responds to 2nd home invasion, shooting within minutes

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – While the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was already investigating a home invasion on the city’s west side, officers were called two other crime scenes: a shooting and a second home invasion.

The shooting was reported near 37th Street and High School Road. According to IMPD officials, the victim was shot in the leg and was said to be awake and breathing.

The home invasion was reported not far away, near 30th and Georgetown, in the 3100 block of Midvale Drive. IMPD officials said a man was injured at that location, but no other details were released.

Right now it’s unclear if the crimes are related.

IMPD responded to a west side home earlier Thursday morning, near South Holt and Rockville roads, to investigate a home invasion. Five men were believed to be involved in that incident.
