Suspects in Blackburn murder accused in burglary, rape case

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Two men charged in the shooting death of Amanda Blackburn are now facing new charges in a Nov. 3 burglary and sexual assault.

Larry Jo. Taylor Jr. and Jalen Watson were charged in the burglary and rape of a young woman at westside apartment.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Taylor and Watson entered the apartment and raped the victim and demanded money and asked for her credit cards. The victim told police that her cell phone, laptop, television, vehicle and several other valuables were stolen. Police believe that several of the stolen items were later sold to individuals near 56th and Georgetown road.

The report states that Taylor sexually assaulted the victim at gun point, while Watson ransacked the apartment.

The victim’s vehicle was recovered on Nov. 15 in the same area the suspects sold the stolen items.

Taylor was identified through DNA from the sexual assault.

Taylor and Watson are also facing charges in the Nov. 10 shooting death of Blackburn. As well as committing two additional burglaries on the same day as Blackburn’s death.
