INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indiana Congressman Todd Young is proposing that new steps be taken to monitor Iran’s nuclear capability.
Iran has recently conducted long range missile tests in violation of U.N. Security resolutions, so Young is proposing that a select committee be appointed to oversee the Iran Nuclear deal negotiated by the Obama Administration.
The 9th District Republican says he believes that Iran poses a more serious threat than ISIS.
“A country can heavily resource their terrorist activities unlike a terrorist group,” he said. “That’s why this is the biggest threat and that’s why we need a select committee put together so that we can inform the American people and frankly send a message overseas that Congress and our federal government is prepared to take whatever measures may be necessary to make sure this terrorist state doesn’t get a nuclear weapon.”
Young also says he is acting due to a lack of response from the White House.
