Hendricks Co. man accused of making threats to FSU

GREENCASTLE, Ind. (WISH) – A Hendricks County man was arrested this week after police say he called in bomb threats to Florida State University.

It started Thursday around 1:30 p.m. Greencastle Police say a man wearing a dark colored hat and dark sweat shirt walked into a Marathon gas station to use the phone. That’s where they say he called in the first threat to the university.

Police say the man then drove to the Country Mart in Fillmore and called in a second bomb threat to FSU. A police sergeant with the Florida State University Police Department contacted a sergeant with the Greencastle Police Department asking for help finding the man.

The Greencastle Police Department posted pictures of the man on their Facebook page and received a number of tips.

Officials say one tip led officers to 28-year-old Brandon Wingler of Amo, a town in Hendricks County.

Wingler was interviewed and later taken to the Putnam County Jail.
