IMPD searching for suspect after shots fired at police
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Investigators with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department say they need the public’s help with locating a man who has been identified as a suspect in the attempted murder of an IMPD officer.
According to a release, investigators are looking for Kennic Brown in connection to Tuesday’s incident where shots were fired at officers following a vehicle pursuit.
Officials say Brown currently has active warrants for resisting law enforcement, drunk driving, and possession of a controlled substance.
Two women have been arrested in connection with the incident. Shelby Moors and Sicily Moors are facing preliminary charges of false reporting, obstruction of justice, and assisting a criminal.
No officers or civilians were injured during the pursuit or subsequent shots fired. A number of homes in the area suffered damage from gunfire. Police say bullets narrowly missed a young child as they slept.
