INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The day after Christmas is second only to Black Friday as the busiest shopping day of the year.
At the Meijer on Southport Road, shoppers were lined up outside before the doors opened at 6 a.m.
The store director says most of them were looking for after Christmas discounts.
The returns line has gotten shorter over the past decade, store director David Poletti said.
Thanks to technology, customers are less likely to purchase the wrong size or color of an item, resulting in fewer returns, the store director explained.
A recent survey by American Express found 57 percent of Americans planned to go shopping Saturday, up from 43 percent in 2010.
