Several Tippecanoe Co. roads closed due to flooding

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — Heavy rains continue to fall across the viewing area and officials have closed several roads due to flooding.

North Ninth Street has been closed between Interstate 65 and Prophet Street, which is the 6000 block of N. Ninth. That’s from Burnetts Road to Battle Ground.

The Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office have also closed South County Lane Road between 700 East and 850 East due to high water.

Earlier Monday, N. River Road was closed due at Catherwood Drive due to a tree that had fallen onto power lines in West Lafayette. Authorities have also closed the roadway at Soldiers Home Road. West Lafayette Police reopened N. River Road/State Road 43 just after 4:30 p.m.

Emergency officials are asking drivers not to drive through high water. They say turn around and find a different route.
