Flooding concerns continue across central Indiana after heavy rainfall

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Flooding concerns across central Indiana continue after heavy rainfall fell across the state over the weekend.

Chopper 8 flew over flooded areas in Johnson and Morgan counties, as well as Turkey Run State Park in western Indiana this afternoon.

Three day rain totals ranged between two to six inches across central Indiana, with the highest concentration of heavy rainfall in the extreme western part of the state.

Officially in Indianapolis, the three-day rain total between Saturday through Monday was 3.65″, surpassing the average monthly total of 3.17″.

For the month, Indianapolis has received 5.58″ of rain, which now ties for ninth wettest since records began in 1871.
