Police ask for help in search for identity theft suspect

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Authorities are asking for the public’s help in the search for an individual wanted for theft and using counterfeit checks.

According to police, the suspect has attempted to pass along counterfeit checks on several occasions.

The first attempt happened on March 20 at the PNC Bank in 6900 block of South Madison Avenue.  The individual, posing as William Weintraub, used a fake Maryland’s driver’s license as he gave the bank teller a counterfeit check. The suspect was attempting to withdraw funds from an account belonging to Paul Davis Restoration.

A second incident took place on March 21 at a PNC Bank location when the same man attempted to use a counterfeit check to once again draw money out of a Paul Davis Restoration account.

In the second occurrence, the white male was posing a Noah Sadow, using a fake Ohio driver’s license.

The man’s identity is unknown at this time.
