Crashes on I-69 near Madison County cause traffic gridlock

MADISON, COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – Numerous crashes on Interstate 69 have closed several southbound and northbound lanes near Pendleton.

Police officials say they have the northbound lanes closed near the 22 mile marker. On INDOT cameras cars could be seen passing on the shoulder.

Storm Track 8 meteorologist Ken Brewer said flurries and freezing mist were causing several other slick spots in the metro area on Thursday.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area of I-69 and take it slow during their morning commute.
