Businesses, Colts fans hold on to playoff hopes

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – It’s not over yet.

Fans and downtown business owners are optimistic that the Colts could make the playoffs.

The team needs a win over the Titans, and they need eight other games to fall in their favor.

“I’m very excited. Very nervous,” Colts fan Katrina Dickenson said.

Dickenson said she traveled all the way from Canada to watch the Colts make the playoffs.

“Honestly, I always have faith in the team and I think they’ll make it.”

If they make it, bartender Brittany Henry said she’ll be serving plenty of beer at Ram Restaurant and Brewery, a few blocks from the stadium.

“It’s great for the city. We always want them to win for that reason. And it keeps people in a good mood,” Henry said.

If the team misses the playoffs, Colts insider Mike Wells reports that head coach Chuck Pagano will be out of a job.

And Dickensen already knows how she’ll feel.

“Heartbreaking. No matter what, when they don’t get what they deserve because of things like injuries, it’s heartbreaking,” she said.

Dickensen and her friends were the first customers at the Colts Pro Shop Friday. They arrived about an hour after the store opened.

A sales associate said a playoff berth would mean more shoppers, but Dickensen said she’ll be wearing blue no matter what.

“Obviously, it’s been a rough season with all the injuries. But I’m hopeful.”

The last time the Colts missed the playoffs was 2011. That’s the only time they’ve missed since 2002.
