GRANT COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — A woman died after a crash early Saturday in far southeastern Grant County.
Delaware County Sheriff Ray Dudley said Rebecca Scott, of Marion, was driving south on I-69 near mile marker 256 when she lost control and hit a barrier wire.
She drove to a rest stop in Delaware County and called 911 around 6 a.m.
She complained of pain in the abdomen and was taken to a local hospital.
Scott died from a ruptured spleen at 11:55 a.m., according to Delaware County Coroner Scott Hahn.
The sheriff said she was wearing a seat belt.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash. It’s unclear what caused her to lose control.
Scott would have turned 63 years old Sunday.
