Suspect ‘really sorry’ after Indy robbery

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A woman was robbed outside an Indianapolis grocery store Saturday by a suspect who reportedly apologized for the crime.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department police report, it happened around 8:30 a.m. at the Kroger located at 5173 West Washington Street.

Police say the victim, a woman in her 60s, was walking up to the front entrance of the grocery store when a tan-colored van, probably a 2000 model, stopped in front of her.

The female driver opened the door half way then asked the victim for directions. According to the report, the female passenger exited the vehicle, approached the victim from behind and grabbed her purse.

The report states that as the duo sped off, the driver said to the victim, “I’m really sorry ma’am.”
