JACKSON, COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – Police arrested two Illinois residents on various charges near Uniontown on Interstate 65 after their car broke down.
Police responded to a stranded motorist near the 40 mile marker on Sunday morning. When they arrived they found a disabled minivan and a man who was wanted on a warrant for charges of domestic violence and strangulation, according to 24-Hour News 8’s partners at the Seymour Tribune.
Larranis D. Wade, 37, of Rockford, Illinois was arrested, along with his passenger Amy N. Thijssen, 30, also of Rockford. The pair had three children in the car at the time of the arrest. They were turned over to a local child services staff member.
Thijssen was arrested on preliminary charges of maintaining a common nuisance. She was also preliminarily charged with possession of paraphernalia and trafficking with an inmate after a search showed the she was possession of marijuana and a marijuana grinder.
According to police, while at the jail they located a prescription muscle relaxant on Thijssen’s person called Tizanidine. Preliminary charges of trafficking were also filed against Thijssen.
The duo was booked in the Jackson County Jail without bond.
