INDIANAPOLIS (WISH)- For the first time ever, the Indiana State Fraternal Order of Police has endorsed a candidate in a contested primary.
Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller is running for a seat in the United States House of Representatives. He is currently campaigning around central Indiana.
Tuesday morning, he spoke at the state’s FOP. The Indiana FOP President Tim Downs said that Zoeller makes the law enforcement community a priority.
“Greg Zoeller has been a champion of Indiana’s law enforcement community and we know he will continue to be in Congress,” Downs said. “We have always been able to count on Greg to provide the tools necessary for us to do our jobs and protect Hoosiers.”
Zoeller has not only provided law enforcement with Narcan, a treatment for drug overdoses, but he has worked on preventing prescription drug abuse, according to the FOP.
If elected, his district would stretch from Greenwood to Jeffersonville in southern Indiana.
He continues his campaigning Tuesday at police stations in Bloomington, Bedford and Nashville.
