Police: Man shot, killed on city’s near north side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department confirmed a person was shot and killed Tuesday night on the near north side of the city.

The shooting happened in the 3300 block of Hovey Street. Police were called to the scene around 10:30 p.m.

When officers arrived they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say several witnesses were transported to the IMPD Homicide office for questioning.

The victim was identified as 37-year-old Wesley Collins.
