Seymour student arrested after social media threat

SEYMOUR, Ind. (WISH) — A 16-year-old Seymour student was arrested Wednesday morning after police say she threatened to bring a gun to school.

According to a Jackson County Sheriff’s Department spokesman, deputies were alerted to the threat around 8:20 a.m. by Trinity Lutheran High School’s principal.

The female student posted the threat on social media, the sheriff’s department spokesman confirmed.

Deputies responded to the school and arrested the girl. It’s unclear what charges she’ll face.

No gun was found and no injuries were reported.
