Lafayette man arrested for alleged child porn distribution

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – A Lafayette man faces preliminary charges for child pornography.

According to the Lafayette Police Department, 43-year-old Chad Steiner was arrested Thursday around 6:30 a.m. for possession and distribution of child pornography.

Steiner was taken to the Tippecanoe County Jail.

Detectives say the investigation remains ongoing as forensic evidence is being processed.

The investigation was in partnership with the Tippecanoe County High Tech Crime Unit which consists of detectives from the Tippecanoe County Prosecutor’s Office, Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office, and Lafayette, West Lafayette and Purdue police departments.
