Cloverdale man arrested after attempting to elude police
PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – A Cloverdale man was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of mypodermic, identity deception and possession of marijuana on Thursday.
Indiana State Police arrested 26-year-old Robert Robbins for going 78 miles-per-hour in a 55 mph zone going southbound on Interstate 70 near State Road 243. When the officer attempted to pull Robbins over he pulled into a driveway and he attempted to walk away from the car.
The officer said Robbins at first gave him a false name and date of birth. ISP located around 25 grams of suspected marijuana in the car and Robbins has hypodermic needles on him.
Robbins was also wanted on a warrant from Putnam County for driving while suspended and leaving the scene of an accident.
Police booked Robbins in the Putnam County Jail.
