Vigo County parents charged with neglect of handicapped child

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – Two Vigo County parents face charges of neglecting their handicap child.

According to 24-Hour News 8 sister station, WTHI, Terre Haute Police arrested Anastasia and Joshua Jackson Sr. in late December.

According to court records, their son is five years old, yet weighs only 15 pounds.

Doctors at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis say the child has signs of significant neglect and stage three malnutrition.

The boy suffers from a neurological disorder.

Medical records indicate that the boy’s parents missed several appointments with doctors, prompting child protective services to get involved.

Both parents are in the Vigo County Jail.
