INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Animal Care and Control is advising pet owners to keep a close eye on their four-legged and furry friends during the cold weather.
Investigators have already conducted several spot checks throughout the city.
They were looking for animals that appear to be suffering due to the cold weather.
A change in the law last year even makes it illegal to leave your dog outside in the frigid temperatures and cold weather.
Anyone found in violation of the law will receive a citation and have to appear in court.
A fine could also be levied between 25 and 250 dollars.
