At least 2 injured in south side crash

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A crash that injured at least two people on the city’s south side was a suicide attempt, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officials confirm.

It happened around 4:30 a.m. near East Banta Road and Madison Avenue.

According to IMPD, the crash involved one vehicle that hit a pole. There were two said to be two people injured at the scene. They were awake and breathing, police said.

Other details about the crash weren’t immediately clear.

Traffic in the area was blocked after the crash. Drivers should use caution while emergency personnel remain on scene.
