Crash causes downtown power outage
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A car crash caused thousands to lose power on Monday afternoon.
The crash occurred just before 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of West Street and South Street. By 3:15 p.m., nearly 3,000 outages were listed on IPL’s website.
Indy residents caught video of the flames created by the crash.
The Indiana State Museum was forced to close as a result of the crash.
IPL said it was also dealing with downed power lines at Harding and Washington streets.
