Indiana chief justice to deliver State of Judiciary address

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Loretta Rush will deliver her second State of the Judiciary address before a joint session of the General Assembly.

Rush will give her update on Indiana’s judicial branch during Wednesday’s speech in the Indiana House chambers attended by lawmakers and Gov. Mike Pence.

Her address will focus on Indiana’s progress with court technology, including electronic filing of court documents, the growth of problem-solving courts and the courts’ response to Indiana’s drug crisis. Rush will also address efforts to help children and families and honor a constitutional scholar.

Trial and appellate court judges from across the state while wear traditional black robes for the event.

Indiana’s constitution requires the Indiana Supreme Court’s chief justice to provide lawmakers with an annual update on the state’s courts.
