Over 1 million digital books borrowed at the Indianapolis Public Library

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Millennials aren’t the only people going digital, libraries are too.

The Indianapolis Public Library recorded record digital borrowing numbers in 2015.

In 2015, Indianapolis readers borrowed more than 1 million digital books, which include eBooks, audiobooks, streaming video and digital periodicals.

According to the release, only 33 libraries in North America achieved those same numbers.

Libraries have turned to digital books to accommodate their readers. In 2015, 169 million digital books were borrowed, a 24 percent increase from 2014.
