Bloomington working to keep drinking water contamination levels down

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — The city of Bloomington is working to stop drinking water contamination levels from rising.

The city says reports show an upward trend of by-products in the water. The by-products are caused by several factors, such as weather, water treatment methods and the distance water travels.

Those who get water from Bloomington are being told not to worry.

The water is still safe to drink.

The levels pass IDEM and the EPA’s regulations.

Alternative water methods include a home filtration system or buying bottled water.

Bloomington’s new administration says it hopes to see progress in the contamination level within three to six months.
