Brutal cold moves in Sunday

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The coldest air of the season will be taking aim on central Indiana starting Sunday.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill advisory for most of central Indiana beginning Sunday night.

An arctic front that brought snow showers to much of central Indiana Sunday morning has moved east, allowing for a flood of bitter cold air to move into the Midwest.

Skies will clear Sunday evening, allowing for temperatures to fall quickly. Overnight lows are expected to fall near 0 degrees in most locations. Northwest winds between 10 to 15 mph will allow for wind chills as low as -10° to -20° Monday morning.

A wind chill advisory means dangerously cold wind chills could lead to frost bite and hypothermia if precautions are not taken.

The wind chill advisory expires at noon Monday.
