Crews take man to hospital after 4-car crash

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Crews took one man to the hospital early Monday morning after a crash involving four vehicles.

It happened on Interstate 65 north near 30th Street, just before 12:30 a.m. Medics took one man to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital, but did not release his identity or condition.

He was awake and talking after the crash. Police believe that man caused the crash by driving while impaired. State troopers also believe speed was a factor.

Four cars were involved in the crash, but crews only took one man to the hospital. Medics checked out another driver at the scene. It took troopers about an hour and 15 minutes to clear the wreck, and three of the cars had to be towed away.

Investigators have not said what charges the driver could face. 24-Hour News 8 will update this story as more details become available.
