Dangerously cold air blows into Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – It was a rude awakening Monday morning for residents in central Indiana.

By 4 a.m., the temperature in Indianapolis was 3 degrees but felt like a painful -15.

Dozens of schools decided to either delay or close because of the extreme cold. To see if your school is on the list, click here.

Over the weekend, local warming shelters filled up as the bitter cold temperatures started moving in.

A wind chill advisory remains in effect until 12 p.m. Monday. Wind chills could dip down to -20 degrees Monday morning.
