Brown County Sheriff’s deputies injured in crash on way to scene of emergency

BROWN COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – Two officers with the Brown County Sheriff’s Office were injured in a wreck while responding to a an emergency call.

According to our partners at the Brown County Democrat, Lt. Brad Stogsdill and Deputy Scott Bowling were both traveling west on State Road 46 in Brown County, when the crash occurred.

In addition to both working for the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, they are also brothers.

The report goes on to say that the officers were headed to the scene of a call for a child hit by a vehicle.

As one officer began to slowdown, the other driver continued and rear-ended the stopped vehicle.

The rear-ended vehicle then proceeded down a hill and into a wooded area.

The second vehicle sustained heavy damage to the front-end.

Both officers involved in the wreck were transported to Columbus Regional Hospital.  The extent of their injuries was not known at this time.

The report also says that the child the incurred only minor injuries to the mouth and lip.
