Tickets to see the Colts in London now on sale
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – If you’re already eager to see the Colts back in action, tickets to watch them live in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium are now on sale.
The tickets are only being sold through the website for NFL UK, not at the Colts ticket office. The game is on Oct. 2.
Premium seats were first to be made available Tuesday.
Most of those seats are along the sideline near the 50 yard line, specifically in the lower and mid-level of the stadium. The prices are listed in pounds but after converting them to dollars, the seats ranged from $170-$225.
The rest of the seats in the stadium will go up for sale Thursday. The cheapest we found were a little under $60 for the upper level.
But none of the tickets on sale right now or later this week guarantee you’ll be sitting by a Colts fan.
Blue and white sections are specifically set aside for season ticket holders. They can buy their tickets in April through their Colts account.
“I would always recommend getting a ticket as early on as possible. Typically that’s the best method to obtaining a better seat, or one that fits maybe within what your budget may be, or your desired seat location,” said Larry Hall, VP of Ticket Operations and Guest Services.
He added that many of the local fans in London tend to show their support for the teams unrelated to the two on the field.
“There’s a lot of interest there for all the teams so it always looks like a pro-bowl vibe where there’s a lot of different jerseys from all 32 teams,” he said. “Then you’ve got the great city of London which has just an enormous number of sites to see.”
The Colts teamed up with Bullseye Event Group, a ticket and travel agency, to help fans plan their trip.
Bullseye created a package that includes a non-stop charter flight from Indianapolis to London that leaves the Wednesday night before the game.
It also comes with a four-night stay at a hotel organizers say is comparable to the Conrad in Indy. It also includes a welcome reception on Thursday. Friday and Saturday are open to whatever the fans would like to do in England. Then there’s a pregame tailgate. The total cost, which includes a lower level ticket to the game, costs $3,999 per person.
“What we’re selling is not just a ticket to the game, it’s an experience,” said Kyle Kinner, partner at Bullseye Event Group.
We looked up prices for fans who want to organize their own trip. The cheapest flights we found online were around $1,000 for a round trip. Hotel prices in London appeared similar to the US. However, unlike the US there are hostels in London. A night at one those was running as low as $22.
