Danville police chief demoted

DANVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — Danville’s police chief has been demoted.

According to Gary Eakin, the town manager in Danville, William Wright has been demoted to a sergeant.

Jim Hilton will serve as a interim police chief until a replacement can be hired.

Eakin said the decision was made Tuesday during an executive session, but could not give the reasons behind it. He said it was a “personnel matter.”
