Eli Lilly’s arthritis drug moves forward

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indiana has ordered even more chickens to be killed after a bird flu outbreak. Also, Eli Lilly’s arthritis drug is moving forward.

Animal health officials investigating a bird flu outbreak in southwest Indiana have ordered 156,000 chickens at one of 10 affected commercial poultry farms to be euthanized, raising the number to above 400,000.

Eli Lilly said it filed a new drug application with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for an oral rheumatoid arthritis treatment. The company is working on the drug with Incyte.
