Brownsburg High School on alert following online threat

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (WISH) – Police and school officials in Brownsburg are investigating a threatening online message directed toward Brownsburg High School on Wednesday.

According to local law enforcement, federal and state authorities, the threat was deemed not credible.

Brownsburg officials say that the school day on Thursday will go on as planned, but there will be extra security in place.

Police ask that if you see these threats that you should not engage, share or accept their friend requests.

This threat follows several online threats that have been made to schools around central Indiana. Police in Plainfield say they are still investigating a threat that caused the high school to close just one day before Christmas break. Perry Meridian High School also received an online threat. The 15-year-old student behind the threat was in police custody within nine hours.
