Indy gas prices down another 20 cents

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The average price of gas in Indianapolis is 20 cents lower than it was this time last week, and it could drop even more.

At a gas station on Kentucky Avenue early Thursday morning, gas was $1.37 a gallon, but there are dozens of other spots even lower across the city.

Near Lynhurst and Troy, Kentucky and Mann and Kentucky and I-465 prices were as low as $1.30.

The average in Indianapolis Thursday morning was $1.50. That’s down from $1.74 this time last week. And prices could fall even more.

The price of oil fell to a 13-year low on Wednesday. The Associated Press reports that, in recent years, drillers have used new techniques and new locations to find oil, leading to an abundance of oil.

But it’s not all good news. The drop in oil prices sent stocks plunging on Wednesday. Investors are worried the drop could be a big sign of a weak economy.

That’s no stopping drivers, though, from filling up!
