John Mellencamp, girlfriend Christie Brinkley spotted at IU game

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — Rock star John Mellencamp was out and about near his home in Monroe County Saturday.

He attended an Indiana University basketball game alongside former supermodel and girlfriend Christie Brinkley.

The couple cheered on the Hoosiers to an 89-57 win over Northwestern.

Mellencamp, a lifelong Hoosier, was married for nearly two decades to Elaine Irwin. The couple divorced in 2011.

The musician, songwriter and actor known for top-10 hits like “Hurts So Good,” “Jack & Diane,” “Crumblin’ Down” and “Pink Houses” was born in Seymour, Indiana, in 1951.
