Hendricks Co. house fire causes $400K in damage, injures 3 firefighters

HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — A firefighter is recovering after being trapped on the roof of a burning home Sunday.

The fire was reported around 11:30 a.m. in the 8300 block of County Road 375 East near Plainfield.

The firefighter was rescued by other fire crews and taken to Hendricks Regional Hospital for evaluation, according to Plainfield Fire Territory.

Two other firefighters reported minor injuries.

It took about three hours for crews to get the fire under control.

The blaze caused an estimated $400,000 in damage to the home.

The Red Cross is stepping in to assist the family.

Crews from Mooresville Fire, Danville Fire, Wayne Township Fire, Monroe Township Fire, Liberty Township Fire, Pittsboro Fire, Mill Creek Fire, North Salem Fire and Avon/Washington Township Fire assisted Plainfield Fire Territory.
